The Van Buren Vee Bees pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-55 to Norman Thomas. Van Buren has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Norman Thomas' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Chazulle, who scored 21 points. Chazulle hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jariel Rodriguez, who scored 18 points.
Van Buren's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-7. As for Norman Thomas, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Van Buren will face off against Metropolitan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Metropolitan is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Norman Thomas on the road again on Thursday and play against Martin Luther King Jr Educational Campus at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th.
