After each having a week off, the Cranston East Thunderbolts and the Cranston West Falcons will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Cranston East is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Cranston East fell victim to East Greenwich's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a rough 20-0 loss at the hands of the Avengers.
Meanwhile, Cranston West faced Woonsocket in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Cranston West walked away with a 21-14 victory over Woonsocket two weeks ago. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cranston West.
Cranston West can attribute much of their success to Kelan Cornell, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 119 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Salas and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Cranston West's victory.
East Greenwich's win bumped their season record to 2-8 while Cranston East's defeat dropped theirs to 1-9.
Cranston East came up short against Cranston West when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 35-26. Thankfully for Cranston East, Marcus Chung (who rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
