Pacific Lutheran extended the longest winning streak in 8-Man Freelance (8 Man) this week by beating Upland Christian Academy, 43-26. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Stingrays.
Mojave was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to first in the league.
ANGEL AVINA threw for 156 yards and 4 touchdowns.
QUINTEN RATHKE was the best receiver in the league this week as Coast Union bested Thacher. RATHKE tallied 5 receptions for 150 yards. EMMANY GODINEZ helped Coast Union's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 38 yards.
Coast Union's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Broncos feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. AVINA has thrown for 1,185 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while RATHKE has 26 catches for 634 yards.
The most important game in 8-Man Freelance (8 Man) this week will be the match up between Orcutt Academy and the Mustangs. The Spartans enters the contest ranked 21st in the state, while Mojave ranks first.
LANE SUTHERLAND of the the Broncos is just 2 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 120 carries SUTHERLAND has put up 998 yards this year.
Orcutt Academy took down Villanova Prep 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Enzo Stagnaro threw for 62 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 135 yards during the win.
