Math & Science Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matches -- so hopefully St. Paul Academy-Summit likes a good challenge.
Math & Science Academy pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-60 to Liberty Classical Academy/Chesterton Academy/Schleusener HomeSchool.
Meanwhile, St. Paul Academy-Summit waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They beat Roosevelt by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 63-52. Given St. Paul Academy-Summit's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Roosevelt is ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Math & Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for St. Paul Academy-Summit, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Math & Science Academy came up short against St. Paul Academy-Summit when the teams last played back in March of 2021, falling 61-50. Can Math & Science Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
