The Augusta Orioles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 73-50 margin over El Dorado. Given Augusta's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while El Dorado is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sam Greene and Logan Garner certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Greene scored 15 points along with three steals, while Garner scored 11 points. That's the first time this season that Greene scored 15 or more points.
Augusta's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for El Dorado, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Augusta will square off against Mulvane at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mulvane focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Monday. As for El Dorado, they will head out on the road to take on Collegiate at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
