Last Wednesday, Clear Spring took a serious blow against Brunswick, falling 72-31. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clear Spring in their matchups with Brunswick: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge lost to Fort Hill on the road by a decisive 65-48 margin on Wednesday.
Despite their defeat, Mountain Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Owen McGeady, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. McGeady is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Cameron Breighner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Clear Spring's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Mountain Ridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.
Clear Spring suffered a grim 67-46 defeat to Mountain Ridge in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Can Clear Spring avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
