Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 28% better than the opposition, a fact the Andover Trojans proved on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South 72-37 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Andover has managed all season.
Andover was led to victory by Blake Rucker and Joshua Kim. Rucker scored 22 points along with seven rebounds, while Kim scored 21 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kim has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tanner Woolston, who scored seven points.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Humphrey, who scored 13 points. Sawyer Walker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Andover pushed their record up to 5-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for South, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Andover will head out on the road to face off against Salina Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South, they will be playing at home against Abilene at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Abilene will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
