Arlington is a perfect 10-0 against Belmont since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Spy Ponders will venture away from home to square off against the Marauders at 4:15 p.m. Arlington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Arlington proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 14) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Arlington Catholic. The Spy Ponders haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Soline Fisher made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple.
Fisher wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ceci Bagnall, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those runs marked the first that Bagnall scored this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Belmont). They put the hurt on Cambridge Rindge & Latin with a sharp 17-5 victory on Monday.
Belmont got a massive performance out of Elsie Lakin-Shultz, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Amelia Ormond, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 5-for-5.
Belmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .613. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Belmont's record is now 3-1. As for Arlington, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Arlington has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Belmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Arlington skirted past Belmont 3-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Spy Ponders repeat their success, or do the Marauders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
