Spoto hasn't had much luck against Lennard recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spartans will host the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. Neither Spoto nor Lennard posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.
Spoto is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 7-1 to Parrish Community.
Spoto saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levert Sims Jr, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lennard won against Sumner on Tuesday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Longhorns beat Steinbrenner by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.
Lennard also got a great performance from Pablo Garcia as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Garcia also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Longhorns are 6-3 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-8 otherwise.
Lennard pushed their record up to 9-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Spoto, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Spoto's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Spartans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lennard, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Spoto continue to outrun the ball?
Spoto might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Lennard in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
