Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Vernon-Enola). Everything went their way against the Wonderview Daredevils on Monday as they made off with  a  15-5 win. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warhawks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Tucker Henry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  5.2 innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Those  eight  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances with three  runs, four  RBI,  and one  stolen base. He has become a key player for Mt. Vernon-Enola: the team is 2-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 1-8 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  James Rodgers, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  RBI (three). Another player making a difference was  Asher Adams, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 Mt. Vernon-Enola was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Mt. Vernon-Enola's record now sits at 3-9. As for Wonderview,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 5-7 record.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon-Enola will welcome Baptist Prep  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Warhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 10.6  runs per game this season. As for Wonderview, they will be playing at home against Bigelow  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Daredevils are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
