Gallup made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Shiprock, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bengals put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 18-3 win on Saturday. The Bengals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gallup got a massive performance out of Dwight Calvin, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Chase Blackgoat was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his seven plate appearances.

Gallup always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .540. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gallup's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Shiprock, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
