The Smith County Owls scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Monterey 77-57. The win made it back-to-back wins for Smith County.
Monterey's loss came despite strong showings from Aiden Roberson-Barber and Mekkiah Henry. Roberson-Barber scored 18 points along with three steals, while Henry dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Roberson-Barber has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Wessels, who scored nine points.
Smith County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season. As for Monterey, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith County will challenge the Purple Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monterey, they will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Beckham Mckendrick and Roberson-Barber.
