Make it ten blowout wins for the Mesquite Wildcats this season. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-18 victory over American Leadership Academy. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-7.
Navae Guidry was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six steals and five rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Vanessa Sepulveda was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals.
Mesquite's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38 points. As for American Leadership Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Mesquite will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Mary's will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Mesquite is ranked ninth). As for American Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
