South Summit is 3-0 against Delta since September of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The South Summit Wildcats will take on the Delta Rabbits at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
South Summit entered their tilt with Providence Hall with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. South Summit breezed by Providence Hall at home to the tune of 45-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as South Summit just coasted through the last quarter.
South Summit had a senior duo take command as Bracken Lassche threw for 196 yards and three touchdowns and Trey Stembridge rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Kaden Hunter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Delta's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past South Sevier 42-0 at home.
Delta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kadance Lovell out in front who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Ty Stefanoff, who gained 72 total yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Delta's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. South Sevier's QB won't forget Campbell Warnick anytime soon given Warnick sacked him five times.
South Summit's victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.4 points per game. As for Delta, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
South Summit didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Delta in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 30-26 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Delta's Cam Smith, who picked up 169 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
