Football Game Preview: Masuk Panthers vs. Windsor Warriors

The Masuk Panthers will square off against the Windsor Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Masuk is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Sunday. They claimed a resounding 41-13 win over Bunnell. 41 seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Gavin Walker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also picking up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns. Shane Walker also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Masuk was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Masuk wouldn't let Bunnell keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Luke Longo was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. Masuk got some further help from Aidan Diaz: he picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.

Meanwhile, Windsor put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Newington onto the board and left with a 50-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-point performance the contest before.

Masuk better keep an eye on John Manning. He was instrumental in Windsor's win, rushing for 258 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Manning was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Masuk and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Windsor, their record is now 12-0.

Masuk and Windsor were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in September of 2019, but Masuk suffered an agonizing 28-27 loss. Can Masuk avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
