Softball Recap: Fisher Catholic Sets Scoring Season-High Against Harvest Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fisher Catholic). They never let the Harvest Prep Warriors get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Irish sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Olivia Haynes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Haynes was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harper Kline, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Mallory Stanton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Fisher Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive games.

Fisher Catholic's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Harvest Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, Fisher Catholic will square off against Southern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Harvest Prep, they will face off against Fairfield Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.56 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
