The Sesser-Valier Red Devils had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 79-65 victory over Cairo on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cairo's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was McKenlee Pirtle , who scored 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeserick Pilgram , who scored 18 points.
Sesser-Valier's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Cairo, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Sesser-Valier will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Johnston City at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Cairo will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Martinsville at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th.
