The Darien Blue Wave were the 70-39 winner over the Wilton Warriors when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Darien was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 70-69 to Wilton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (59), Darien still had to take the loss.
Leading Wilton to victory were Anderson Campbell and Ryan Luchetta. Campbell scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while Luchetta scored 23 points along with two steals. Luchetta continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Max Jarvie, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Darien has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Wilton, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Darien will challenge Stamford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Stamford's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for Wilton, they will head out on the road to square off against Greenwich at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwich is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
