Canutillo is 10-0 against Jefferson since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Canutillo Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Jefferson Silver Foxes at 6:00 p.m. Canutillo is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
Canutillo suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Chapin 66-32. While losing is never fun, Canutillo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Chapin is ranked 37th).
Meanwhile, Jefferson suffered a rough 58-37 loss at the hands of Bel Air on Tuesday. Jefferson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Canutillo's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6. As for Jefferson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Canutillo against Jefferson in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 64-22 win. Will Canutillo repeat their success, or does Jefferson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
