Lake City hasn't had much luck against Lourdes recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Tigers will square off against the Eagles at 11:00 a.m. Lake City will be strutting in after a win while Lourdes will be coming in after a loss.

Aaron Lou made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Lake City let Asher Bee and Landon Wiemann run wild. Bee got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Wiemann went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Bee has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lourdes' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Cannon Falls by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since May 11, 2024.
Nicholas Bowron was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Lake City has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Lourdes, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lake City has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lourdes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lake City was able to grind out a solid victory over Lourdes in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
