The Simla Cubs won the last time they faced the Holyoke Dragons, and things went their way on Friday too. Simla took their game at home with ease, bagging a 48-17 victory over Holyoke. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Simla.
Simla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Summer Wangerow led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Cox, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Despite the loss, Holyoke saw an underclassman step up: Ellie Kleve dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kleve scored a full 58.8% of Holyoke's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Simla now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Holyoke, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Simla will be playing in front of their home fans against Merino at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Holyoke, they will square off against Sedgwick County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
