Caden Beck was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Delaware Christian is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-7 otherwise. Beck was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Beck wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Yoby, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between Shekinah Christian and Tree of Life Christian, and Shekinah Christian kept the tradition alive. The Flames skirted past the Trojans 10-8. Considering the Flames' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Max Kilzer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Brayden DiCarro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Shekinah Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Delaware Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
