The Edgerton Bulldogs will square off against the Hilltop Cadets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Edgerton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Hilltop's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Edgerton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Hicksville 18-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Cory Herman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Scottie Krontz looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Maddox Baker was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Mason Elden was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Edgerton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hicksville only posted an OBP of .174.
Meanwhile, neither Hilltop nor Edon could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 tie.
Edgerton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Hilltop's tie gives them a new season record of 12-10-1.
Edgerton was able to grind out a solid win over Hilltop in their previous meeting back in April, winning 8-3. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Cadets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
