After two games on the road, Northampton is heading back home. They will take on the Nandua Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northampton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Nandua likes a good challenge.
Even though Chincoteague scored an imposing 70 points on Thursday, Northampton still came out on top. Northampton took their matchup against Chincoteague 82-70. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, as Northampton did.
Northampton had a senior duo take command as Quayshawn Washington shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 11 assists, and ten steals and Ronyell Coston scored 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Washington has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tywon Sebastian, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Nandua entered their tilt with Poquoson with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Nandua walked away with a 59-48 win over Poquoson on Tuesday.
Northampton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Nandua, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Northampton beat Nandua 65-54 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Northampton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nandua turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
