The Foxcroft Academy Ponies lost against the Ellsworth Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Foxcroft Academy ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-47 walloping at the hands of Ellsworth. Foxcroft Academy has struggled against Ellsworth recently, as their match on Monday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Foxcroft Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jadon Richard. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Lucas Sands, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Foxcroft Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ellsworth, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foxcroft Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Presque Isle at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ellsworth will take on Orono at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
