Softball Recap: Plano Takes a Loss

Plano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rock Hill Blue Hawks. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Aubrey Zhang made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Taylor Pitts was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Zhang wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Plano kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Plano's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Rock Hill, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

Coincidentally, Plano and Rock Hill will both be playing McKinney the next time they take the field. Rock Hill will head out to face McKinney at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Plano will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
