Two dominant in Cami Groberg and Esther Analjok are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Skyline Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Judge Memorial Catholic is ranked 18th).
Last Thursday, Skyline lost to Cottonwood on the road by a decisive 53-34 margin.
The losing side was boosted by Groberg, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. She scored a full 52.9% of Skyline's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Leelu Bare was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Judge Memorial Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skyridge.
Despite the defeat, Judge Memorial Catholic got a solid performance out of Analjok, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Analjok's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Achol Daw, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Judge Memorial Catholic were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyridge only pulled down eight.
Skyline's win bumped their season record to 1-4 while Cottonwood's loss dropped theirs to 2-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Skyline have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.4 threes per game. It's a different story for Judge Memorial Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 6 per game. Given Skyline's sizeable advantage in that area, Judge Memorial Catholic will need to find a way to close that gap.
