3A District 5 recap September 10, 2013
Calvary Christian's Danny Giordano recorded the longest rushing play in 3A District 5 this season in his game against Out-of-Door Academy last week. Giordano scampered for 61 yards on the play and finished with 162 on the day as his team topped the Thunder.
St. Petersburg Catholic moved up to 306 from 364 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Barons climbed the ranks as a result of besting Pine Ridge 42-0.
Conor Regan and Giordano gave Calvary Christian a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Teammate Regan added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.

Regan put up the best numbers in passing as the Warriors bested Out-of-Door Academy. He had a total of 4 completions for 87 yards.
CJ Cotman was the best wideout in the league this week as Clearwater Central Catholic fell to Tampa Catholic. Cotman racked up 2 receptions for 90 yards.
Giordano was the most successful running back in 3A District 5 this week.
Giordano was a passing and rushing force as Calvary Christian bested Brett Timmons' team.
St. Petersburg Catholic's Jack Sheehan and Jaquan Fuller have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Sheehan has thrown for 145 yards this season, while Fuller has 3 catches for 82 yards. Giordano from the Warriors leads the league in rushing with 270 yards.
Steve Dudley's team took down the Panthers 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Fuller ran for 98 yards and caught 3 passes for 82 yards in the win.
