Basketball Recap: Windsor Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Windsor won the last time they faced Mesa Ridge and Madden Smiley did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wizards sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-61 victory over the Grizzlies on Thursday for which the team can thank Smiley, who went 10-for-13 to rack up 28 points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy.

Mesa Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Lucas, who shot 57% from the field en route to 18 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Lamar, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Windsor and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Mesa Ridge, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Windsor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-45 defeat against Air Academy on the 12th. As for Mesa Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-38 win against Thompson Valley on the 12th.
