San Dieguito Academy suffered their biggest loss since December 22, 2023 last Tuesday. They were dealt a 81-43 defeat at the hands of Carlsbad. San Dieguito Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.
El Camino won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by Torrey Pines 73-44. While losing is never fun, El Camino can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Torrey Pines is ranked 41st).
San Dieguito Academy dropped their record down to 4-14 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for El Camino, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
