2A-2 Region II District 5 recap Nov. 7, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Henrietta, who took down 897th ranked Henrietta, 12-10.
Alvord moved up to 926 from 983 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-2 Region II District 5. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Bearcats 12-10.
Nocona's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tate Fenoglio threw for seven and one touchdown and Edward Cardoza had 60 yards receiving. On the ground Fenoglio chipped in 167 yards.
Hayden Hill provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Nocona topped Jacksboro. He completed five passes for 79 yards and also ran for 125 yards.
Nocona's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Nocona feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hill has thrown for 587 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Cardoza has 18 catches for 344 yards. Fenoglio leads the league in rushing with 1647 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Tigers take on Holliday. Jacksboro is in third place, while the Eagles are in fifth place.
Nocona extended the longest winning streak in 2A-2 Region II District 5 this week by beating BriaHodnett's team, 34-14. The win marks ninth in a row for the Brad Keck's team.
