At the plate, the team relied heavily on Quentine James, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Randolph Southern also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Bryson Grimes gave up just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Noah Allen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Braden Austin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Wapahani's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Randolph Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Randolph Southern's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wapahani hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. Wapahani took their victory against Randolph Southern when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
