The Layton Lancers had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 55-39 win over Farmington on Friday. The win was just what Layton needed coming off of a 60-34 defeat in their prior matchup.
Layton had a senior duo take command as Oakley Homer scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Avery Potter scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Lindsey Thurgood was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Layton's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Farmington, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Layton will take on Weber at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Farmington, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Davis at 5:15 p.m. Davis presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Farmington in Utah (Davis is ranked third, while Farmington is ranked 114th).
