After a string of three wins, the Arvada Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 53-42 to Bennett. If Arvada hoped to take revenge for the 43-31 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Arvada still got an impressive performance from Emma Ngewasi, who scored 23 points along with four steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Ngewasi posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Heck, who scored two points along with two steals and two blocks.
Bennett was led to victory by Jessica Venneberg and Lily Venneberg. Venneberg scored 22 points, while Venneberg scored 25 points. Venneberg hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Raquel Thorpe was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Arvada's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Bennett, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Arvada will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bennett, they will be playing at home against Platte Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Platte Canyon: 24.6, Bennett: 29.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
