Wind River and Rocky Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. Both teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Wind River suffered their closest loss yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Greybull by a score of 47-45. That's two games in a row now that Wind River has lost by exactly two points.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain came up short against Shoshoni on Saturday and fell 50-38. Rocky Mountain has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Rocky Mountain got a solid performance out of Tucker Jackson, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Jackson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Minchow, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Wind River's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-11. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Rocky Mountain, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Wind River beat Rocky Mountain 65-58 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Wind River have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rocky Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
