After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Neumann, the Norfolk Catholic Knights were happy to have found some success on Monday. They skirted past Cedar Catholic 48-46. This was payback for Norfolk Catholic, who suffered a 49-33 loss the last time these two teams met.
Avery Yosten was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Yosten has scored at least 25% of Norfolk Catholic's points. Another player making a difference was Jacey Wolf, who scored ten points.
Norfolk Catholic's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. As for Cedar Catholic, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Norfolk Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Guardian Angels Central Catholic is ranked 76th, while Norfolk Catholic is ranked 100th). Cedar Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Crofton. One thing working in Crofton's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
