Two dominant guards in Haydin Jackson and Ize Tidball are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bennington Badgers will take on the Norris Titans in a tournament on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bennington comes in on six and Norris on three.
Bennington is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Elkhorn: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Bennington blew Elkhorn out of the water with a 65-25 final score. The Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 34 points or more this season.

Bennington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Macie Reiner out in front who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Reiner is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Allie John, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Norris hadn't done well against Elkhorn North recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Norris blew past Elkhorn North 59-37. With that victory, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Bennington better keep an eye on Tidball. She was instrumental in Norris' win, going 6 of 7 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. What's more, Tidball also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Bree Chambers, who put up ten points.
Norris smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Bennington pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Norris, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bennington has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Norris struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Bennington came up short against Norris in their previous meeting back in January, falling 57-47. Will Bennington have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
