Softball Recap: Northmor Has No Trouble Against Elgin

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Northmor and Elgin, and Northmor kept the tradition alive. The Golden Knights put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 12-3 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Golden Knights, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Shelby Cooper made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Katalina Roseberry was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Maddie See was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Northmor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elgin only posted an OBP of .281.

Northmor's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Elgin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Northmor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elgin, they will challenge Hardin Northern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
