The Highlands Ranch Falcons won the last time they faced the Hinkley Thunderbirds, and things went their way on Friday too. Highlands Ranch simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hinkley 78-25 on the road. With Highlands Ranch ahead 44-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Highlands Ranch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Bakken led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 7 steals. Bakken is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Forester, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Highlands Ranch's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hinkley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Highlands Ranch will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Greeley Central at 11:30 a.m. on December 9th. As for Hinkley, they will face off against Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
