The Perquimans Pirates will be playing at home against the East Columbus Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Columbus took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Perquimans, who comes in off a win.
Perquimans can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 27-18 victory over Gates County. The victory was just what Perquimans needed coming off of a 42-13 defeat in their prior match.
Perquimans got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jarmon Overton out in front who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, East Columbus fell victim to West Columbus' stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 55-0 defeat at the hands of the Vikings. While losing is never fun, East Columbus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 387th, while West Columbus is ranked 191st).
Perquimans' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for East Columbus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Everything came up roses for Perquimans against East Columbus in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 48-14 victory. Does Perquimans have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Columbus turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
