The Bartram Trail Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Clay Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Bartram Trail's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on First Coast with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Bears not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2, 2025 (when they won 11-1).
Bartram Trail got a great performance from Kors Matthews as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Max Wilkerson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Colby Dean, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Clay made sure to put some runs up on the board against Baker County on Friday. The Blue Devils blew past the Wildcats 11-0. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Lucas Montoro looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Lukas Moore was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Peyton McCrae was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Clay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Baker County only posted an OBP of .350.
The victory got Bartram Trail back to even at 1-1. As for Clay, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Bartram Trail suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Clay in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
