St. Johns extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-10. Everything went their way against the Many Farms Lobos as they made off with a 14-1 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Kaden Waite made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for St. Johns: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 1-9 otherwise. Waite was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, St. Johns let T Platt and Isaac Vallejos run wild. Platt went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Vallejos went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Platt is becoming a predictor of St. Johns' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Castillo, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
