Despite a strong season so far, The Draughn Wildcats have seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They fell 38-28 to Corvian Community on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corvian Community to victory, but perhaps none more so than Esias Caves, who picked up 163 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Caves' longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards. Another player making a difference was AJ Jackson Jr., who threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Draughn's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Corvian Community, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Draughn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Corvian Community will head out on the road to face off against North Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Rowan will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
