The Woodinville Falcons stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 80-44 win over Newport - Bellevue. The victory was familiar territory for Woodinville who now have nine in a row.
Newport - Bellevue's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Portia Polo, who scored 17 points along with four steals. That was a full 38.6% of Newport - Bellevue's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Megan Roberts was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Newport - Bellevue struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Woodinville's victory was their 18th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Newport - Bellevue, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Woodinville will be playing in front of their home fans against Inglemoor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Inglemoor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Woodinville is ranked second). As for Newport - Bellevue, they will head out on the road to take on Mount Si at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
