The Wolfe County Wolves will face off against the Powell County Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wolfe County took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Lee County get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won four in a row.

Jaxson Hollon and Chance Fallen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hollon pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Fallen tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Hollon posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. At the plate, Hollon went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Fallen went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaden Hollon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Oliver, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Powell County made easy work of Mason County on Tuesday and carried off a 12-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly ten runs.
Powell County got a massive performance out of Jackson Tipton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Dylan Trent, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Powell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Powell County's win bumped their record up to 19-14. As for Wolfe County, their victory bumped their record up to 18-9.
Wolfe County came out on top in a nail-biter against Powell County when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
