Belton came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the La Grange Leopards 59-36. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, La Grange saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brandon Mathis posted eight points and 11 boards. What's more, Mathis also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Devonte Mckenzie was another key player, putting up eight points.

Belton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for La Grange, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belton will venture away from home to challenge Wimberley at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Wimberley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches. As for La Grange, they will head out to square off against Bandera at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. La Grange is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season.
