The Calvin Christian Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. Their tough 62-42 loss to Fallbrook might stick with them for a while. Calvin Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Calvin Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Garrett Becker, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Lapka, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Samuel Carmona was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds for Fallbrook. Another player making a difference was Christian Myers, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Calvin Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Fallbrook, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.
Calvin Christian will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. As for Fallbrook, they will head out on the road to take on the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
