Basketball Recap: Montgomery Sets Scoring Season-High Against Neumann Regional Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montgomery). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights on Wednesday, sneaking past 64-62. For the Red Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 71-52 victory the Golden Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Several Golden Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jager Woodring, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Woodring a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Walter, who had 15 points.

Montgomery's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Neumann Regional Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery will square off against Galeton at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Montgomery has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Neumann Regional Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Loyalsock Township at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
