The Heritage Huskies's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They strolled past Wake Forest with points to spare, taking the game 61-45. Given Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Wake Forest is ranked 469th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Heritage got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Levi Beckwith out in front who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Jon Mwanda was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Wake Forest's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juel Tillery, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Damien Smith, who scored eight points.
Heritage's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Wake Forest, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
Heritage didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-41 win vs. Athens Drive on the 7th. Wake Forest has also already played their next matchup, a 69-55 loss against Wakefield on the 9th.
