Cameron County hasn't had much luck against Otto-Eldred recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Raiders will host the Terrors at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Cameron County and Oswayo Valley, and Cameron County kept the tradition alive. The Raiders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Green Wave on Wednesday, sneaking past 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Raiders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ryan Shaffer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Cameron County: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 0-5 otherwise. Shaffer was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Shaffer wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake Narby, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Narby is becoming a predictor of Cameron County's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). Another was Gage Trumpie, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Otto-Eldred gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Oswayo Valley. The win continues a trend for the Terrors in their matchups with the Green Wave: they've now won four in a row.
Jared Obenrader spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Otto-Eldred let Wyatt Blendinger and Manning Splain run wild. Blendinger got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Splain went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Otto-Eldred's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Cameron County, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cameron County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Otto-Eldred struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Cameron County might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Otto-Eldred in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
